Lieutenant General (Retired) Bruce T. Crawford is an inspired, thought leader of character with more than 36 years of leadership, executive management, national security, digital transformation, and cybersecurity experience. Bruce is currently a Board Member (Public, Private and Non-Profit), C-Suite Advisor, Consultant and Volunteer. He has also held Board positions with Avalara Inc., Comtech Inc., and the George C. Marshall International Center.
After retiring from the U.S. Army in 2020, Bruce held executive positions at Jacobs Engineering until 2023 as the Senior Vice President for Strategic Development and Chief of Innovation with responsibility for leading the company’s global digital transformation and innovation initiatives.
Prior to his transition from the military after 34 years of service, Bruce held a C-Suite position serving as the U.S. Army’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) and senior Information Technology (IT) accountable official, where he was the principal enterprise IT and cybersecurity policy advisor to the Secretary of the Army and the Army Chief of Staff. Responsibilities included oversight of the Army’s $18B annual IT budget, data and cloud migrations, digital transformation, and delivery of IT capabilities from the tactical edge to the enterprise at 288 locations in 143 countries world-wide.
A native of Columbia, South Carolina, Bruce was commissioned through South Carolina State University's Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program in 1986, after graduating as a Distinguished Military Graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He also holds Master's of Science degrees in Administration and National Resource Strategy.
During his 34 years of service, Bruce served in a variety of key positions at the operational, strategic, and tactical levels in every major global theater of operations, that includes Europe, the Indo-Pacific and Southwest Asia.
